Course Overview

To ensure that all participants are trained in the correct use of appropriate signals when working with high rise cranes and other such machinery, in keeping with health and safety regulations.

Who is this course for
The job of a slinger/signaller or Banksman requires skill and concentration as they play a vital role in the lifting team. They must know and understand both the regulatory requirements of their job and the operational requirements of the lifting operation. And they must be trained and competent in all aspects of their work. You cannot resit this course if you have previously held a CSCS card in Slinger / Banksman
Course Objectives
Course Details: . Theory. Current Legislation. Pre Shift Inspection. Hazards Associated. Practical. Attach lifting gear to a varied loads. Balanced load, & Unbalanced load. Bale of concrete blocks. Bale of tubes or rods. Attach and use of tag ropes to control a load. Recognise and use of approved hand signals
Course Requirements
All trainees have to have a valid Irish Safe Pass. All trainees must have over 6 months experience in the past 2 years in Ireland. All trainees have to have an Irish PPS or UK National Insurance number. All trainees have to be able to read, write and understand English on their own. If not then a SOLAS approved interpreter needs to be provided on-site for all training. Interpreter needs to be approved in advance of the course.. All SOLAS Candidate Packs need to be completed and returned to us in advance of a booking being confirmed, where applicable. You cannot resit this course if you have previously held a CSCS card for Slinger Signaller. NOTE: SOLAS rules require 7 full days notice of our intention to run a course
