Course Content . Legislation. The operators”™ safety code. General safety rules. Daily inspection procedures. Lift truck controls and instruments. Starting/ moving/ stopping and steering the truck. Operation of hydraulic controls. Vehicle loading and unloading. Stacking and de-stacking. On/ off ramp driving. Lift truck stability. Loading and stacking procedures. De-stacking and unloading. Maintenance. Charging and changing batteries. Fuelling procedures.

Who is this course for
Any person that needs to operate a Forklift that has not has any previous licence or experience. This is a Beginners course to acquire the basic skills to operate a Forklift
Course Aim
On completion of the course participants will be able to: . Operate a forklift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrian. Use safe operating habits. Explain the consequences of taking certain kinds of chances. Load and unload safely. Refuel/recharge forklift trucks safely. Handle awkward loads
Course Objectives
On completion of the course participants will be able to operate a forklift truck safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrian.
Course Requirements
At least 16 years of age. Medically fit to operate machinery. A good standard of English. PPE Gear, i.e., Helmet, Safety Boots, Hi-Visibility Vest.
