Course Overview

Duration 10 course days and 1 exam tutorial day (excluding assessments).

There will be approximately 40 hours of private study and background reading.

Assessment is a two-step process:
1. GIC1 – An open book examination to assess what you know. Runs monthly.

2. GIC2 – A practical risk assessment to assess what you can do (3 hours).

A closing interview will be held after the assessments.

Course Objectives
On successful completion of the course, learners should: • Confidently carry out risk assessments • Develop and implement a detailed action plan • Manage and minimise workplace risks • Support and develop their company’s health and safety culture
Course Requirements
A good understanding of English, both spoken and written, is required for this course. NEBOSH recommends that students should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher. This is important as learners must be able to understand and articulate the core syllabus concepts in English - this is the language in which the course and assessment are delivered.
